For over 35 years, Ron has built businesses, developed and implemented strategic plans, and delivered long term operational success. His experience spans across multiple enterprises ranging from sole proprietor to numerous $100+ million divisions of both publicly-held and family-owned companies. Ron brings proven success and experience in operations, planning, digital transformation, disruptive innovation, entrepreneurial processes, product licensing, retail, newspaper and magazines, merger & acquisitions and comprehensive change management.
Prior to Boldsquare, Ron held several leaderships roles at Scripps Networks Interactive, the parent company of media brands including HGTV and Food Network. During his tenure, he launched the HGTV Consumer Product Division as well as Food Network products. In that role, Ron helped secure and renew licensed products in top tier retailers including Sherwin Williams, Kohl’s, Lowes with products available in over 10,000 retails doors and online. He was on the launch team of two of the most highly successful magazine launches in the last decade, Food Network Magazine and HGTV Magazine, and sat on the Board of both magazines. Ron also managed HGTV Dream Home, one of the single biggest sweepstakes and promotions in the United States. Other areas of focus including launching the first disruptive innovation group at Scripps Networks as well as heading up key digital acquisitions including Recipezaar, the single largest user generated recipe site.
Prior to Scripps, Ron worked at InfiNet, a consortium of newspaper owners including Gannett, Knight-Ridder and Landmark Communications. During his time at InfiNet, he helped the nation’s largest newspapers launch their digital businesses during the infancy of the internet. Ron received his MBA from the University of Tennessee and attended Wharton School of Executive Education.
