Janet Brewer


Janet is a strategy and communications expert who has been tapped by public companies, government agencies and nonprofit leaders to help strengthen brand and reputation, manage issues, build community relationships, foster high performance cultures, and modernize organizations. She has worked across multiple sectors including energy, retail, manufacturing, automotive, financial, legal services and technology sectors, and has led transformation efforts contributing to improved customer loyalty, employee alignment, cost effectiveness, and operational efficiency. She is recognized as a trusted, transformational leader who uses new technologies, tools and approaches and utilizes to help teams and organizations achieve higher performance.

Prior to joining Boldsquare, Janet was Chief Communications and Marketing Officer for the Tennessee Valley Authority and was on the company’s executive management council. She served on global technology company NCR’s executive team as vice president of communications and chief advisor for two foundations. While there, she led communications for the corporate spin-off of Teradata and multiple acquisitions, alliances, partnerships and geographic expansions and spearheaded change management and communications for NCR Continuous Improvement. Her background also includes leadership positions at LexisNexis and The Reynolds and Reynolds Co., creating and running her own marketing communications consultancy, and serving in numerous other marketing and communications roles.

Janet has been actively engaged in community development, volunteerism and fundraising and currently serves on the Leadership Tennessee Advisory Council. She holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Eastern Kentucky University and carries a certificate in Corporate Community Relations from Boston College.
